A more reasonable update time.

A more reasonable update time.

Since I need to work on 4 days of the week, I'll aim to do at least one day per Friday/Saturday/Sunday.
No time to write more. I will kill you all one day. Caio.

Day 11

Day 11
No, don't worry, we didn't all skip a day. It was spent preparing and leaving the house. I didn't have time to write anything yesterday, we were travelling all day, and for most of the day I was carrying the smaller girl. I can't keep referring to her like that, so for the time being I'm going to call her John. For comic effect. We left the house quite late, at around 5pm. It took the rest of the day just to prepare. I don't know if I made all the right choices, but I'm here now. I am.

When we left we each had our own missions. Laura had one of the guns, being the most mature of the two girls, and one backpack filled solely with dog food. John was brining the dog, and I had a backpack filled with food, supplies and I had the USP 45, with about 10 bullets. Part of me felt sorry as we left the home I'de slept in for the past three weeks, but part of me felt the thrill of adventure. We had sorted a simple route to the police station:
Follow my road to SS street.
Follow SS street to Awesome street.
Turn off Awesome street at Nut street.
Finally walk Nut street till Rush street, on which the police station is a mere 5 minuet walk through back allys.

A simple enough route for simple enough people. We began to move easially enough, but right away we encountered more of my favourite word, problems, on SS street. There must of been at least a hundred of them littered all over it. I started to sweat at this moment, and we hustled along to the nearest back ally we found. I knew the general lay of the area, so I was fairly confident that unless Rush street was also covered, I should be able to make our way there, assuming we don't run into more issues. We ran into more issues.
We walked down the ally to the end, and found ourselves on Sonda street, a small street with only 8 houses lining it. Lining those houses were more undead. At this point I figured that practically all street is going to be like this, and so we should stick the back allys as we had done before. But there was an issue with my god like plan. The nearest back allyway was blocked, by a green-grey demon. His arms were missing, and he only had one leg. The smart me would of made my way around him, but unfortunatly, the smart me hasn't existed for ten years. I estimated that with one simple kick, I should be able to unbalance, then jet past the felled creature. And proceeded to do so, quietly sneaking across the street, stopping about three feet from the creature, it was deadly still.
I took aim at its leg, and sprinted forwards, should I of taken a moment to think, I would of noticed the half-open bin bags in front of it, and I wouldn't of kicked it, it wouldn't of crippled and fallen straight onto them, and empty cat food tins wouldn't of rattled all over the street. It would of saved me from a lot of problems. Said problems instantly turned and started lumbering towards us, including one that was hidden from view from within the ally. I didn't have much choice. I took aim at its head, and fired. John screamed as a spray of blood played artist along her small face, along with mine. I didn't have time to argue about my clothes bill, so I simply picked the girl up and continued running down the ally.
The sound of the undead moaning from every direction is a sound I'm going to have haunting my nightmares for years to come. No remorse, no mercy, no life. Just a monotone grumble of guttural sound. I grimaced and tried to block it out, just keep running, I told myself. The police station is sanctuary. The police station is home. I took a sharp turn left, and the dog lead stretching across my arm from John's hand gave me a nasty burn. No time to think about that. Laura was right behind me, if I stopped running with her this close, she would run head first into me. Too bad that a brainless corpse doesn't care for social etiquette. He swung round, and I stopped on my heels. Laura, miraculously, avoided me completely, landed on one knee, and before I could even see what was happening, I heard a gunshot and the infected laid still. I still don't completely understand how this girl of 16 learnt to shoot like that, but she simply looked up at me and smiled. Onwards we went, around more back allys. John was seeping tears into my chest, causing me to fear even more. Imagine my surprise then, when yet another undead in front of me was dispatched with ease by this pink haired girl. I felt somehow safer knowing she was around. We proceeded around two more corners, and in front of us laid more dead undead. I mean literally dead, their heads a ball of pink mist, blood all over the walls. I didn't have time to stop and think, I shut my eyes and pushed myself over the dead bodies.
Around two more corners, more dead grey bodies, another corner. Again I was forced to stop on my heels, in front of us, packed into a small meter wide ally, were at least twenty undead. Their eyes as dark as the ooze issuing from one of their mouths. I consulted Laura on what to do, she pointed past the nearest of the undead, into one of those old fashioned basement style doors, which we promptly sprinted for. I kicked the nearest undead out of the way, and it let out a howling scream. I called to Laura, who turned and somehow caught the small girl I just threw at her, turned and barred the gate, all within a matter of seconds. I'm marking that down as my most bad ass moment, ever.
The doors were getting a good going over, they wouldn't hold for long. I thought I heard gunshots, but I couldn't be sure, what I was sure of that we weren't safe here, and we couldn't stay here long. I looked around for signs of non-life, but I didn't find anything. Instead I saw a much more worrying sight. In my haste to leave the house, I had left behind the two knives I had found, and laying in front of me, was a dead body, an axe lodged in its head. I tried hard to ignore it, and instead made my way behind it. Whoever's basement it was, it wasn't a very safe one. Not only was the door already splintering, but behind the dead body laid a canister of gas, right next to, God our savour, a shotgun of a model I don't know, and at least thirty shells. I almost dropped to my knees right then and there and started praying. Despite the fact I'm not a praying man.
I decided against logical data to give Laura the second hand gun, I didn't feel like subjecting a small girl to murder just yet. I sat and consoled the girl for a few minuets, until the crying stopped. It was time to kick some ass. The door was in bad shape. There were arms already thrown through it, and it was buckling pretty badly. I decided that this tea party was over, and pushed the gun up hard against the fractured opening. I called to the others to look away, before looking away myself, and pulling the trigger. An unholy boom shattered the remains of the doors, and blood rolled in through the stairs. I didn't want to stick around and find out what else was going to start rolling in through the doors, I motioned to Laura before kicking the shattered doors open and ducking. Three shots fired, three quiet thumps on the ground. I ran out, and saw carnage. Carnage I caused, carnage I will try hard to forget.
Most of the rest of the trip went smoothly enough in comparison. By the time we reached the deserted Rush street, Laura said she had just four shots left, and I couldn't count how many I had while running. The action of turning to grab ammo from my backpack and place it in my gun had left a big mark on my arm, but I ignored it. We reached the entrance to the police station with only two more problems between us and it. I decided to conserve shotgun ammo, and let Laura take care of them. The door was steel and locked shut. At first my heart sunk, until it opened for us. Inside we found yet another woman. I'm a real babe magnet aren't I?
Her name was Lisa Awesome. Not my Lisa, but none the less the memory brought pain to me. Is she all right? I might never know. Lisa insisted we called her Awesome, and I've got no complaints. She's around 5 foot 8, and has short blonde hair. She's 22, apparently. Is this what it feels like to be a pimp? Run up to every girl I meet, and beg their name and age? I didn't ask if she's found any weaponry in here, as all three of us fell asleep almost instantly. When I woke up, I saw the other girls still sleep on the hard floor, complementary covers placed over them, police logo branded. Awesome was still sitting by the door. Glock 18 in hand, at first I thought it was mine, until I saw at least then full clips by a bag full of food. I asked her story, she didn't want to say, and I didn't feel like probing any deeper than her telling me she had been in the police station for the past day, alone.
The police station is well stocked with ammo and food. There's an upstairs area with an open roof that looks over the top of most houses in the area. Tomorrow I'll set about barricading the one door way up to it, then I'll think of, what next?

Day 9

Day 9

I've had a small brainwave. The police station. I don't plan on calling for help, if needs must I would swing the little girl for a weapon. (That was a joke. I'm not sick. The dog maybe.). Instead if we can make our way there, we might find a well more weapons, and I know it's a few defended place. The door is made of steel if I recall right, and there's only one way in that I've seen. Aside from my little idea, there's not much else we did today. The final T.V station went out, but not before releasing a short clip of some guy saying 'Hide yo kids, hide yo husband'. I didn't really understand it.
Out of sheer boredom:

Tim:
Height: 5 foot 7
Age: 23
Haircolour: Brown
Hairlength: Long and curly
Special Skill: Weilding Bed Ben as a Canine Sword

Laura:
Height: 5 foot 10
Age: 16
Haircolour: Pink. I know. Pink.
Hairlength: Medium cut
Special Skill: Inhuman survival skills

???:
Height: About 4 foot 6
Age: ??? (Bet: 10)
Haircolour: Brown
Hairlength: Long and straight, past her shoulders.
Special Skill: She will 'silence' the undead.

It's now 11pm. There's constant banging on the door. I don't know how they found us, but this banging defiantly isn't human. Nobodies getting any sleep today, if it's still happening tomorrow, I guess it's time to leave this sanctuary.

Day 8

Day 8

All aboard the Tim Train. Next stop:... I legitimately have no clue. But another 'problem' has flown happily into my little underground nest. I heard banging on the door, not undead banging, but quick, purpose full bangs. If that didn't tip me off, the voice of 'Let me in!' did. Another girl, a little older than the previous, apparently saw us moving towards the house. She refuses to explain how or why she was alone out there, but I can see her clothes are blood stained. Poor girl, I would hate to know what happened to her or her parents. She' around five foot ten, which annoys me greatly, has shocking pink hair, and deep blue eyes that have already seen things that a man of one hundred should not of seen, her name is Laura Jargon. The younger girl has long brunette hair, and is short. She still hasn't spoken a word, but she smiles and laughs whilst playing with the dog.
More problems. Everyday problems. My life's just one big problem after another. Only the pirate station is running now. The other stations are all on the emergency broadcast that went out yesterday. As if to say, right, no more communication. I haven't even tried using the internet yet, but I don't hold too much hope. This is turning into a list...
1: T.V is out
2: Phone lines are out, mobile still works
3: Internet probably doesn't work
4: I have three mouths to feed
5: There is no room down here
6: Oh yeah, everyone is dead and walking. Forgot about that one.

Got food for maybe another two days. Out of all of this, one thing I can say that is really getting looked after, is that damn dog. Two meals a day he's on. I might need to cut it down a bit. Space is a real issue, I'm currently laying on the floor writing whilst the girls sleep in the two sleeping bags. I have more sheets upstairs, but I don't think we can stay here long enough to make them of any real use.

Weird upside: I'm surrounded by girls!

No really I'm just going crazy.

Day 8?

Only kidding.
You all thought I was posting day 8. You indeed are fools. I am posting simply to let people know I have added a list of followers to the site. This is more incentive for you to follow me. Because if you are not following me, I swear to god I will feed you to my pet Eucalyptus Tree when I complete my goal of world domination. Now away Jeeves! To the forest! *Leaps on butler's shoulders*

Day 7

Day 7

The time is 4am. I've been woken by a huge explosion of in the far distance, followed abruptly by the sound of a jet flying by. I guess the military are active after all. From the window I can see the explosion clearly, causing a huge smoke column and there's quite a lot of fire coming from some obscured area. This is actually remarkable luck, as it's drawn all the lumbering bodies towards it, and now my street is clear. The first stroke of luck I've had in almost a week. I tried phoning Lisa again, hoping she was running some kind of different time schedule to me, but I guess not. Still no answer. I've not been completely honest with my diary so far though, she isn't strictly my girlfriend. She was, until the day before this whole thing started. We argued, and she left me. I still worry for her though...

I left for the Co-Op at 1pm. I saw nothing around, and I decided that I should leave well before it gets dark. If I ever need to fight these things, I've decided I should at least be able to see them. I left Ben behind for fear of him barking and attracting a lot more attention than I've ever wanted, but I did bring my USP with me. I didn't think I would have the guts to use it, but if I was going to die, I might as well die looking like a bad ass. And hey, there's always the off chance that Ben would learn to use guns and come across to gather the one I left behind. Ben's a smart dog. I'm going crazy.
The trip went uneventful enough at first. I simply trudged my way over, turning to every sound I heard. I got there after what seemed to be at least an hour, but in reality was more like five minutes. The Co-Op itself was in pretty bad shape. It had three huge plate glass windows at the front, all three of which were broken, and there were traces of what I hope was tomato soup on the serrated shard edges. The door was perfectly okay though, which I decided to use. Inside it was not what I expected. The large shelves had all been stacked together, facing the windows, creating a make-shift barrier. All expect for one, which had been knocked over. More tomato soup.
I've never seen a dead body before, I've been near to one, at my uncle's funeral, but never actually seen one. So imagine my surprise when I climb over the felled shelf, and find at least thirty corpses, all mishapen, broken and more importantly, not human. It's not a sight I will soon forget, but it's still not the worst to come. I was wondering were all the food was, and I found out. At the back there was a large freezer. Inside, I found problems. Large, big, annoying problems. Problems that take time to fix. The first of which, was the seven foot wall of a man, his eyes black and his skin grey. Behind him, the mangled and unsavoury corpses of at least four men and one woman. I would of turned and ran then. I would of. But I heard something. I wasn't sure what, but I was sure it was something. If I had any common sense, I would of assumed it was the infected, but alas I stayed. I'm not a bad man, just a short one.
I raised my gun, with a very unsteady hand, yet spoke surprisingly calmly. I asked the undead if it truly was dead, and I said, if it wasn't, I am going to shoot it. It breathed a deathly breath, and at first my guard was lowered, but then it took a step towards me, and half from surprise, I pulled the trigger. The bullet travelled straight through the beings chest, leaving an obvious hole in it. I felt triumphant. Until it merely looked at the wound, then continued towards me. Franticly I fired more shots. I have no clue where I hit, but it stopped moving and keeled over after four or five.
I had officially committed murder, I think. Is it murder to kill something that's dead? Or is it simply a service to the dead? I don't know. I grabbed as much food as I could and started to leave, when I realised, at the expense of more noise, I could carry a lot more food if I took a shopping trolly. So I went about filling it up. I swear to god I had no idea where she came from. But, this girl, she was just standing there, still as a rock. No signs of life. I steadily took aim again. This time tears welled. Was I really about to shoot a girl of about ten? Really? Could I do it? I don't know. Because the girl started to cry, and slumped to the ground. I still don't know this girls name as I write this, she is eating from the other side of the room.
I'll write more when I know more.

Day 6

Day 6

They say your first impressions can make or break a relationship between two people. That's definatly true right now. I can finally guarantee that there will be no form of relationship between me and the undead. They are slow moving, and from what I can gather, completely brainless. They ramble around slowly, bumping into and biting everything, testing it. They seem to be able to avoid each other though, as if there is some unseen brothership between them. Their appearance is ghastly. Their skin is tinged with grey, giving me hope that not many have died, but also regret that it could be because there is nothing more to eat.
Many of them have deformed bodies, arms missing, bullet holes throughout their chests. It's a horrific sight, the one I saw. There must of been at least fourty of them, between me and the Co-Op. I guess me and Ben go hungry for yet another day. Tomorrow, I'll need to fight them if they're still there. For Ben's sake.
The news speaks that the virus in Australia has had practically no effect, but it has since reached China. I have no doubt in my mind that once in China's cities, all hell is going to break loose. I guess there is a God, and I guess he is Australian.

Day 5

                                                                 Day 5
Finally got back. I left the diary downstairs as I went upstairs, and had my first encounter with one of those deathly beings. I didn't see it exactly, but as I was sat observing from my window (I didn't see anything of interest), I heard loud banging coming from the door. It kept up for practically most of the day, and I decided to try to sleep. I can't say it did me any harm sleeping on my actual bed as opposed to my sleeping bag. When I awoke the banging had ceased, and I crept back down into my dungeon.
Took Ben for his walk, decided to go simply in the garden as opposed to anywhere else. I'm going to need to venture out to get some food tomorrow, NOT looking forward to that. I guess I'll take a peek from upstairs again, before making my way to the Co-Op.

Day 4

                                                            Day 4
Heading upstairs to check things out soon. Not much happened so far, the news has stated that the infection has reached Australia, and they're pinpointing an airport as the source. I pray for the Kangaroos.

Day 3

                                                            Day 3
On my second trip upstairs, I noticed what I thought was missing... Everything! My house has been burgled from what looks it like, a good few times. This brought hope that maybe the undead aren't the ones bumping around upstairs, until I spotted pools of blood around the house. That sent shivers down my spine, the blood was dark and reflected my look of horror, adding to it. I retreaved a Machete I had stored in the shed, aswell as my carving knife. I really, REALLY, hope I don't need to use these, but with my limited ammo...
I made sure I brought back a good five tins of dog food for Ben, and instantly opened two of them for the poor dog. He must of been starved since he wolfed down both of them pretty quickly. Drank a fair amount too, I have a sink with hot and cold water taps. I'm a little worried about his dog business, though, maybe I should take him for a quick walk, just to get things cleared up. Metaphorically.
The news speaks of a new World Defense of the Threat of Biological Creatures, or the W.D.T.B.C for short, which has been set up from rebel, and from what I can gather, slightly more moral, factions of the world's armies. The only army that doesn't have renegade soldiers fighting in it, is our own. I guess the ones that didn't stick with the army, are already dead. The WDTBC has pretty much single handedly taken control of the entire Manhatten island, and has begun work on heavily fortifying the islands borders. They already evacuated everyone there. A miraculous feat if you ask me.
Their leader is apparantly some rich billionair with an enthusiasm for life, a quality I think we should all currently be grasping. He's been stated saying that 'The Army is foolish in England, stay put, stay safe, WE will find you' and boy I sure do hope he's a man of his word. I'm deciding to stay as put as possible, as opposed to heading to Portsmouth. Lisa still hasn't picked up...
List of things to do:
1: Take Ben for business meeting.
2: Phone Lisa more.
3: Make way to second story of house, view through window situation. (I should do this before taking Ben out)

Day 2

                                                            Day 2
Turned out things DO go bump in the night! Or morning, to be more accurate. The time is 4am, and there are frequent and sometimes loud bangs coming from upstairs. I think it's one of those rare times when you actually hope it's a burgler you can hear, and not an axe hungry murdurer. I get those times a lot. I've come up with a solution to my first problem, getting my gun locker open. If I remember correctly, there should still be a crate of building supplies, including a hammer and chisle, just outside of the barricaded door. It's still outside, but it's not 3 rooms away. It'll need to do for now, unless I think of something else. I'll write more when I wake up, that's if I ever get to sleep again.
Plan successfull! I got the crate of supplies. I waited until I heard no sounds for a good few minuets, before darting out and in again. While up there, I saw little actual damage done to the house, the window was broken, but aside from that, I didn't notice a lot out of the ordinary. I do seem to recall something missing though, but I didn't have time to think about it. The padlock on the locker took quite a lot of hard hitting before it popped open. It made quite a racket, but either I'm too far underground, or the undead are just too far at this moment, since I heard nothing from upstairs.
The guns I had were few and came with little ammo. In total I have about 30 shots, which I hope I'll never need to use. The first gun is a Glock 18. It has only one clip of 15, but it's high power should suffice. The second is a USP .45, which comes with two clips of 8. It's got a little more power than the Glock, but it's recoil can be a bit of a problem when firing multiple rounds. Spent a good 2 hours checking each gun and its parts, oiling the mechanisms and practicing the firing system. I have no experiance in actually firing a weapon, but I've played enough video games to understand the basic concept. Aim, and fire. Preferably in the head or heart for a money shot, or knees to incaticipate.
Tried phoning girlfriend Lisa a few more times, to no avail. I can only hope she's safe. I need to think of a plan to get more food for when the time comes, I've reduced my estimate of four days to three, since a lot of the food I aquired won't last long in these conditions, and although I'm trying to consume those first, it's not going to help much. The nearest store is a Co-Op that's just down the road. I can hope that nobodies looted it yet, but it's a vain hope, because I know that if I had more time, I would of already. I can also hope that the store owner isn't there, because I have no money. Not that it's the store that's as much a problem as getting to it.
The T.V has only three channels running now. One of which is a pirate broadcast that started the same time as the outbreak. It speaks mainly information regarding what to do during this time, but it doesn't really give us much information as to how to do it. 'Be sure to stock up on lots of food!'. Oh the irony. One other channel is still broadcasting its non-live shows, mainly sitcoms. The last channel is a news channel, so far the infection has spread as far as Birmingham, but has not been spotted in any other countries. The rest of the world is busy preparing their borders, too busy to help us apparantly. Our own military is, much to my dismay, not searching for survivors, but instead creating a base of operations, and calling for survivors to make their way there, by any means nessecary.
How I'm meant to make my way down to Portsmouth, I don't know. But I'm going to have to think of something, else tough it out alone. A prospect I doubt even the luckiest of people would want to look forward to. Another issue I've noticed, is that I left all the dog food upstairs! I really need to give Ben a good meal.
List of things to do:
1: Phone Lisa.
2: Search upstairs for other rudementary weapons.
3: Find dog food.
4: Look around for other broken areas of house.
5: Phone Lisa again.

Friday 8 October 2010

Day 1

                                                                      Day 1
I've decided to keep this diary, in the hopes that one day it might be found, made into a novel, and some lucky bugger makes a killing off it. That's assuming some lucky bugger ever survives this. It's been 5 hours since the attack 'officially' started, or at least, was first broadcast about. I don't know what happened precisely, but now there are ghouls running the streets and infecting anything and everything that isn't already dead. To be fair, that's all I need to know, I'm not a PHD in science, I wasn't even that good a student, but I knew what to do as soon as the shit hit the fan, and I'm still alive so far.
Name's Tim. I'm not a tall man, around 5 foot 7, I'm a lean build though, which creates an interesting contrast. I have long hair, which curls up. My house is a simple two story house on a small street in London, although due to the large basement which I split into several rooms, it's a lot larger than it seems. Has a nice garden too, with a shed I built that's always served me well. Got a pet dog named Ben, he's a Golden Retreaver, aged 4. He's a good dog, been with him since a puppy bought back when I was 19 as a house warming present to myself. Not that I really have much hope of keeping this house now, since I know I can't stay here forever.
At the first reading of the news on the T.V, I instantly started creating a barricade to the one door that leads to my basement. Years of surfing the internet and watching movies gave me a heightened sense of paranoia, and since this is happenening, I'm not really sure if that's a bad thing. Currently writing this from the makeshift living space I built. It's got a T.V and computer, along with basic internet access and, more importantly, a phone. I've already contacted most of the people I know. My brother John in America says that the virus hasn't yet hit there, and that Mum and Dad are with him. He seems well enough, and if I had one person in the world I would bet on surviving this, it would be him.
I currently only have two issues. The first is finding a way inside of the locked gun locker I have. I know it's illegal in this country, but whoes laughing now? The man with the gun is! Well, will be. Once I figure a way of opening it. The keys are upstairs, and I've heard a few shady bumps coming from the barricaded door. The second issue, is food. I went shopping a day before all this, but I could only get so much downstairs before I started hearing explosions and screaming. I live pretty close to the center of the city, and since that's where it broke out, it only took a few hours before it had reached my area. I estimate I've got about four day's worth of food here, which is dissapointing. I was hoping to at least stay here for two weeks, by that time I hoped the military would have a good rescue system set up. But I guess that plan's out of the window.
Going to try to get some sleep, knowing that I might never wake up. It's a strange feeling, but the fact I know my family is ok is a great help. I just wish my girlfriend would pick up next time I phone...

So I decided to do this thing...

Decided to write a random Zombie Diary. Reasoning: None. If you're reading this, my plan is that you will enjoy it. If you're not reading this... wat?
Anyway, the plan is to get at least a day a day done, maybe more if I find myself bored or just with more time that I know I should have on my hands. Unfortunately my plans have a habit of going south, and when they go south, they like to go camping for 5-6 days. By the time they've come back, it's been a week. So expect a day a week.
